Confronting perspective

I've never really gotten on with tools for rendering perspective, but this viewpoint forced my hand.

  1. Really like it. Can I ask what the actual size of this is?

  2. I've just deployed my ruler and it is approximately 12.5cm by 24cm, I'm basically doing all the pages on A3.

  6. Did you grow up in a fishing community? I guess what I'm trying to ask is what inspires you to make these nautical illustrations?

    1. Hi Sam,

I did not, I'm very much a land lubber having grown up in Cheltenham.

The fascination started with a trip to the small fishing village of Dunure on the west coast of Scotland. It was once famed for its fishing fleet and the information boards there drew me into researching the herring industry (which sadly has now all but disappeared). I think its the faded glory and impermenance that captivates me.
